Metal

Definition of the term metal

Metal is a musical species of the rock genre (as such, it is made with three instruments: guitar, bass, drums) typical of the 80s, which is characterized: ideologically by a morbidly and hopelessly pessimistic conception (hence the systematic and obsessive adoption of the color "black"), when not by sadistic retaliation, of the human and natural condition seen as vortices of brute forces sometimes Manichean (metal), sometimes nihilistically (heavy metal) intended, however always based on a law of evil appearing as constitutive to existence; musically, metal is characterized by an extremist development of the violence and rhythmic and tonal speed of the hard-rock trend of the 70s, characterized instead by a more optimistic and hedonistic, as well as reactionary and active, approach to life, a state that ends up being the opposite and antithetical one to metal.
